M2M is short for Machine to Machine. This is a terminology that is used to describe solutions where an electrical circuit controls another electrical circuit remotely. This is not really new, but with the technology that is available today, some solutions are obtainable off the shelf, some could also be built around smartphones. Therefore the name given to the technology.
